A bipartisan group of antinuclear lawmakers on Wednesday urged the government to revise its draft energy policy that supports atomic power, saying it should respect prevailing public opinion against nuclear power generation.
The group of ruling and opposition lawmakers also called for the inclusion of numerical goals to promote energy conservation and renewable energy, and recommended setting a goal of 40 percent of electric power to be generated by renewable energy sources such as wind and solar by 2030.
