The Governor of Ehime prefecture gave approval on Oct.26 for the restart of unit 3 of Shikoku Electric Power Company’s nearby Ikata nuclear power plant.
The reactor in July passed the screening by the Nuclear Regulation Authority under stricter standards introduced in light of the Fukushima disaster.
The unit becomes the third Japanese reactor to resume operation.
