» Nuclear power to be 20-22% of Japan’s energy mix in 2030

The proposal on the country’s optimal energy mix, compiled by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, shows nuclear power accounting for 20-22% of overall electricity use in 2030 — less than the roughly 30% before the March 2011 Fukushima meltdown. The share of renewable energy such as solar and wind power will rise to 22-24 %.
