» Fishermen pressure TEPCO to end the radioactive water leakage

A national fishermen’s organization on Aug 29th pressed TEPCO to ensure there will be no further leaks of radioactive water from Fukushima Daiichi plant.

The National Federation of Fisheries Co-operative Associations said to TEPCO President Naomi Hirose”Your company’s radioactive water management has failed.”

For the last 2½ years, fishermen near Fukushima Daiichi plant have been mostly stuck and there is no commercial fishing along most of the Fukushima coast. They went out only for test fishing for checking the level of radiation in fishes.

There was a small hope after recent sampling results showed a decline in radioactivity in some fishes. But a series of resent radioactive water leakage from the plant have completely destroyed the possibility of restarting fishery in Fukushima.
