» New water leak found at water tank in Fukushima No.1

Water pounding with extremely high radioactive water had been found near water storage tanks on Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.

TEPCO said the radiation level was about 100 millisieverts per hour measured around 50 centimeters above the toxic water. Noting that the water may have leaked from a tank, the Nuclear Regulation Authority ordered TEPCO to determine the cause and collect soil samples from the immediate area.

The NRA released a preliminary assessment of a level 1 incident on an eight-point international scale, defined as an “anomaly.”
