The chief of Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant, who led to stabilize the crippled reactors when they were spiraling into meltdowns in March 2011, has died of esophageal cancer. He was 58.
Masao Yoshida died on July 9 in a Tokyo hospital, Tokyo Electric Power Co. spokesman said. TEPCO officials said his illness was not related to radiation exposure
