TEPCO on June 21 confirmed that leakage of 360 liters of highly contaminated water was discovered from one of the three desalination units in a temporary warehouse at the plant.
A worker found the water leaking around 3 a.m. on June 21. The water stopped after the worker shut down the equipment, according to TEPCO.
It was the 11th water leak confirmed in the desalination system. The contaminated water contained the same amount of strontium as untreated highly contaminated water. Almost no radioactive cesium was detected in the water.
