Officials of Tokyo Electric Power Co., the plant operator of Fukushima No.1 nuclear power plant, said on March 20,2013 that they found the remains of a small animal like rat inside the housing of a scorched switchboard. Now they believe this animal was the cause of a short circuit in a switchboard that may have led to the power outage at the plant, disabling cooling systems for spent fuel pools on March 18th.
