» TEPCO thinking of releasing water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Powerplant

Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) has started again to consider releasing water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant to the Pacific Ocean due to reaching the limitation of storage space. Before releasing water, TEPCO says the contaminated water will be treated by new purification equipment. This system can remove only 62 out of 63 radioactive substances. Radioactive tritium can not be removed because of technical reasons. The fishermen association is opposing this releasing plan and has not reached any conclusion.
