» Rice cultivation restarted after 2 years self-imposed ban in Hirono town

Hirono town, around 25km away from Fukushima No.1 plant, lifted self-imposed restrictions on rice farming this spring 2013. This was because almost all rice samples from Hirono came in under the 100 becquerel per kilogram national limit for radioactive contamination during screening last year.
