» Hydroponic Vegetable factory opens in nuclear crisis-hit village

An Hydroponic vegetable factory using groundwater and light-emitting diode (LED) has opened in Kawauchi village, one of affected area by nuclear disaster. This project is a part of efforts for disaster recovery by growing radiation-free vegetables.No radioactive materials was detected in vegetables grown at the factory.

The facility is capable of producing over 100 varieties of vegetables, including leaf lettuce and herbs, which will be shipped within the prefecture as well as to the Tokyo metropolitan area
