The World Nuclear Victims Forum was held in Hiroshima from November 21 to 23 and total about 300 participants from 10 countries gathered.
This conference was organized by anti nuclear citizens’ groups in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, etc. in the year of 70th anniversary of atomic bombing, for the purpose of sharing and discussion among the broad definition of nuclear victims including victims of the atomic bombings and of nuclear testing, as well as victims of the nuclear power plants’ accident and uranium mining and milling.
After 3 days session, the forum adopted “Declaration of the World Nuclear Victims Forum in Hiroshima,” which includes the draft elements of a charter of World Nuclear Victims’ Rights. The forum also issued “Fukushima Special Appeal” ahead of the 5th anniversary of the nuclear accident in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.
